Instructions for local client installation and maintenance.

> For Windows 10/11:

  1. Download the .exe installer from the section below.
  2. Run the installer. It will handle all dependencies.
  3. NOTE: If Windows Defender flags the file, click "More Info" -> "Run Anyway" to authorize.

> For Ubuntu/Debian (AMD64):

  1. Download the .deb package.
  2. Open a terminal in your download directory and run:
$sudo apt install ./shield-terminal_*.deb

> To update the Windows client:

  1. Download the latest .exe installer.
  2. Important: Close the Shield Terminal application completely.
  3. Run the new installer. It will automatically overwrite the old version.

> To update the Linux client:

  1. Download the new .deb package.
  2. First, remove the old version:
$sudo apt remove shield-terminal
  1. Then, install the new package:
$sudo apt install ./shield-terminal_*.deb
